Course Summary: Civil Engineering

This course introduces the principles and practices of civil engineering — the branch of engineering concerned with the design, construction, and maintenance of the built environment. Students will study key areas including structural design, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, water and environmental engineering, and construction management.

The course emphasizes the application of scientific and mathematical principles to solve real-world infrastructure problems. Learners will explore engineering materials, project planning, surveying, sustainability, and safety standards.

By the end of the course, students will understand how civil engineers shape modern society through roads, bridges, buildings, water systems, and other essential infrastructure.
